Endecon was the appointed civil and structural engineer on the project, responsible for all civil works including stormwater, earthworks as well as roads and parking. In addition, Endecon were the structural engineers responsible for the design of all structural elements including water tanks, foundations, columns, beams, suspendedslabs, retaining walls, structural steel roofs, canopies, concrete hardstands, concrete fly ramp & Structural Steel Gantry over the N4. Endecon had to design/oversee varies slab demolitions where columns had to be strengthenedto accommodate new retail areas. The first Ice rink was built in Nelspruit Mpumalanga where a special concrete mix design had to be specified.Endecon had a Resident Engineer on site to inspect all works and see that the contractor carried out the works in accordance with the specifications, regulations and engineering drawings.

Project Description: Mbombela Square – High Court – MPUMALANGA.

The project comprises four buildings all of which are of reinforced concrete frames with brick-infill panels and profiled sheeted or concrete roofs. Foundations are conventional reinforced pad footings. Block 1 has one level of basement parking and nine storeys of office area. At ground floor there is also an open parking deck. Block 2 has one level of basement parking and seven levels of office area. Block 3 has two parking levels and two levels for restaurant and shops. Block 4 comprises three levels of shopping and restaurant. The buildings are connected by elevated walkways. Endecon is responsible for the design and site supervision of the civil works (bulk excavation, storm water and sewer) and the structural work associated with the buildings.

Endecon was appointed as the Principle Agent on the project, responsible for project management of the project as well as the coordination of all consultants involved in the project. In addition, Endecon was the appointed civil and structural engineer. Global Macadamias processing factory will have the capacity to be the world’s largest macadamia processing plant. Endecon’s involvement in the development of this facility has enabled us to become leaders in this specialised field.
